Subject: I'd LOVE to see Dekka's pre-draft note archives. "We're not selecting the following, for these reasons."

Over the years, in every draft, each club chooses NOT to draft a host of players (by definition!).

But they do so with reasons.

Maybe they project the player they pass up as having a low ceiling? A poor attitude? Not tall enough? There will always be reasons.

I often wonder what Hine and co had as their "no" reasons for:

2017:
Naughton, Ed Richards (we took Stevo)
Miers, Xerri (we took Tyler Brown)

2019:
Riccardi (we took Rantall and Bianco ahead of him)

2020:
Max Holmes (we took Fin)
Shannon Neale (we took Reef)

2022:
Cowan, Henry Hustwaite, Billy Dowling (we took J Ryan)

This is NOT to say that any club ever nails a draft.

It's simply a genuine curiosity. Did we love those players we passed on, but just love our guy more?

Or did we grossly under-rate some of them, and if so, on what measures?

This stuff fascinates me, as the first club to find a 20% advantage in drafting will will 5 flags in a row because of it.
