They also had a lot of cattle out, or underdone.

And let me state here, I am no apologist for the Blues as I suffered through the dark period of the late 70's and early 80's and am as haunted by that team than by any other.

However, their performance tonight is probably very indicative of their season - in the end, the losing streak at the end of the year (where they could only get over the top of North and the Eagles) pretty much showed where they were at after their early form which had them favourites for the flag at one stage.

And, given the talent they have been able to acquire through a series of seasons in which they were afforded early draft picks through poor performances (and lowly ladder finishes), one would have expected them to figure at least for a couple of weeks into the Finals series (if not further).

Playing Brisbane in Brisbane is a hard ask...

As someone else mentioned, they were far from convincing but they will have the advantage of facing a GWS side that would have had a much harder game.
