Carlton played an extra game against us so we could qualify for the VFL such was the love.
Then came the bloodbath GF of 1910, we won but the wash up was as ugly as it with 18 month suspensions to a player from each team. But when we produced a letter from team mate Daykin saying he started the brawl and not Baxter they just took us at our word and let him off.
Carlton incensed vowed to never lose a GF to Collingwood again! and unfortunately it's a record that's gone on the rival the curse of the Babe.
