Basically, the coaches and neither do I, trust Dean and Frampton, although Billy does seem to match up ok against McKay which is why he would be first in line. In fact, I would have half expected him to come in regardless of Reef's injury. Don't mind Tomlinson but as I said, stas only give part of picture and the eye test helps fill in the gaps.
