I don't recall him doing anything impressive until then Rucjs went down — first just one then they were both injured and he carried the load with McStay

And remember we stated that season with losses!

He did ruck both determinedly and competitively — what stood out were his unique gifts for his size
He is very athletic
He got to contests and ball ups because if this
Then he took the odd mark and occasionally we’d see him confident enough to launch into a kick and he surprised us again - why? Because the bloke is a lively long kick but mostly — for some unaccountable reason — he opts to shovel it sideways to a less or barely better dispiser

My only suggestions are these
Either he doesn't really have a natural AFL Game competitive sense of what to do next
( this isn't born — it can evolve — look at Cox’s wonderful running pass last week )
Or he just lacks self confidence / self belief

Honestly if only he had 50% of Tony Shaw’s self belief and drive — the bloke would be a real strength
