Subject: Beau McCreerey

This bloke is the most frustrating player on our list.

He is such a dichotomy insofar as how he plays the game.
At times one is calling for the plodder to be dropped.
Other times he's close to the most impactful player on our list.

He only gets the ball about 8-10 times per game which is not acceptable when playing as a high half forward. But usually something happens with those few possessions.

When Wiz was doing his "Wiz Biz" draft profiles, he had this "hurt factor" metric applied IIRC to a player's defensive and attacking game. McCreerey's hurt factor is "off the charts" as an offensive weapon given his speed, strength and tackling attributes.

I was hoping that this year was the year where single digit possession numbers would become mid-teen numbers and as a result more goals would result, either directly or as Beau assists.

Don't think that this will ever materialise and then I realise that this bloke was our last pick in that 2020 draft for a reason.

Whereas I was hoping that he may develop into a more rounded and consistent player - secondary mid perhaps - I've now concluded that he'll only ever amount to a role player.

And that's disappointing as he has a number of AFL quality weapons that unfortunately are only ever exposed in cameo appearances.
