She drives the dazed doe back towards the three pups, nipping at her hocks and snarling to scare her forward. She grabs the deer's haunch, shaking her heavily muscled neck and shoulders and tearing at the flesh on the haunch.

The deer makes a last ditch effort to get away and bounds through a copse of trees, but only gets about three yards before she is circled by Aria and forced back to the pups. Badly injured, the hind limps and cannot run, for her effort to get away has destroyed what was left of the ripped muscles.

She holds the leg up by instinct, stumbles forward and falls into the midst of the pups, bleating and thrashing frantically to get up.
