hi! Brenna's mom here. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your kind words and support for Brenna. Brenna did amazing at OC and was very proud to be runner up. Right after that pageant my sister passed away unexpectantly. 2 days before Brenna's 18th bday. 2 months later her dad passed away Dec 25. So no she was definitely not as polished. Her turns weren't tight, the dress was too long with no time to hem so we did some creative pinning and she totally blanked on her OSQ. She really wanted to compete in this prelim since she's going to be attending UNC Charlotte and thought she could best serve the Charlotte community.
It just wasn't meant to be. However, we are all proud of her for trying. Thank you all again for your kind words and support!

Her time will come if she chooses to continue competing. As a former OT mom I encourage you as a mama to stay off this page until she’s finished competing. Not everyone wins their first prelim and some girls have done multiple prelims before they were crowned and I think that’s because you’ll always land where you need to be. All the things you mentioned that weren’t as good as she is capable of are fixable. She should consider competing again since it’s her last opportunity to go to state as a teen just my opinion.
