Judging by what you got for Christmas, Nugget, I'm surprised you can focus on the monitor let alone manage a post so soon afterward.

Be it SL or ARL, the Administration of sides in both camps acted in what they believed to be the best financial interests of their respective Clubs (and possibly themselves in some cases). The business about loyalty and tradition was a tool available to the ARL in order that they could assume the moral high-ground. Let's not kid ourselves; the Administrators were fiscally driven - that's their role and shouldn't be regarded as turning on passionate fans.

Had Canterbury sided with the ARL, my support of them wouldn't have waivered. All said and done, the player benefits I saw as a SL merit were passed on to the ARL-aligned players anyway (I'd've still had a gripe about the form of the 'competition', but that wasn't the doing of Canterbury or SL).

Like you and most others, I prefer to look ahead... hopefully the future involves Cowboys and Auckland out and Norths back. But more immediately: Canterbury trouncing Newcastle in next year's GF; Penrith knocking Parra out of the Semis and the wooden spoon finding a home in Brookvale.
