Subject: Sheffield Deer Park boundary - Buck Wood

There is reference to the fact that there are traces of the boundary of what was once the Sheffield Deer Park, with the Manor Lodge at it's centre, still visible in Buck Wood. The boundary would probably have been in the form of a deep ditch, with one very steep and higher side, on top of which would have been a fence to obviously keep the deer within the Park.
The passage of time ( 300 yrs ) and the influence of man and nature within the wood will have almost obliterated this feature, but I must ask if anyone has seen any evidence on the ground.
