Subject: All My Boardies, Episode 2x01 - "Gestures"

Scene opens as the hospital doors slam open. A gurney is wheeled in, by two paramedics, as a nurse and both Veggie and Jaymzangel rush up to them. Veggie asks what they've got, and one of the paramedics reports that it's a GSW to the chest. Veggie gasps when she sees who it is, and the paramedic asks if she knows her. Veggie says that it's her neighbour, and asks what happened. The paramedic says that they're not sure, but there's another one coming in behind them. Jaymzangel says that Veggie should get the other one, she'll take this one into Trauma 1. Veggie runs to the doors, and opens them just in time to see a body bag being zipped up.

Upstairs, in the NICU, SeaBoy is slumped in the corner of the room. He is staring down at his hands, looking distant and blank. Wolfram comes in, and tells SeaBoy that he did the right thing. SeaBoy doesn't say anything. Wolfy comes over, and clasps his shoulder, saying that he knows it tooks guts, but that knowing what they know, they couldn't let things go that easily. SeaBoy slowly looks up at him, and motions over to the other side of the room. Wolfram turns his head, and sees the baby, back in the incubator, asleep. Wolfram turns back to SeaBoy, and asks him why he didn't do it. SeaBoy stands up, and asks him if he's ever tried to kill a baby before, and that it's really hard. He goes to leave, but Wolfram beckons him back, saying that he's sorry for being harsh, but this has to be done. SeaBoy looks him in the face, and saying that if he wants that baby dead, he can just do it himself. Wolfram says he would, but he has a little problem in that area. He reminds SeaBoy that technically, he's still dead. He's hoping SeaBoy can change that though - he's found out what needs to be done to bring him back.

Over in Dandy's room, ABM slowly crawls out from under the bed. Stormy says that she was wishing he wasn't going to be there, that maybe they were all wrong. ABM shrugs, not saying a word. AngelX asks how he can do this to them, after all they've been through. He says that he can't help his feelings. Toothy and Simon stand in the background, watching events proceed. Dandy turns to them, and asks why they're doing this. Toothy says that they have a vested interest in The Boards, which is why she was here in the first place. It can't hurt to stir things up. AngelX says that she hopes ABM's happy with a murderous skank, and then fires him. ABM asks what she means by that, and Stormy says that they know what Dandy did to Shrub, that Toothy told them. Dandy has a worried look on her face, but ABM laughs it off, asking AngelX if she'd believe the word of Toothy over him. AngelX snarks back that at least Toothy hasn't lied to them. Toothy calls out from the back that he hasn't lied yet. Simon remarks that its only a matter of time, and the two men laugh. AngelX rolls her eyes, then turns her attentions back to ABM and Dandy. She tells them to leave, right now. Just then, AngelX's phone rings - it's Phaedra. She asks AngelX to come back to the offices, that she has something she needs to show her. AngelX asks if it can wait, but Phaedra says it can't. AngelX hangs up, and motions Stormy to leave too. As they walk out, she reminds ABM that she doesn't want to see his face again. With AngelX and Stormy gone, Toothy says that Dandy and ABM are both welcome to pitch up with them from now on. Dandy makes a face, saying that they'd rather live in the charred remains of Caritas than shack up with the Directors again. ABM nervously whispers to Dandy not to burn all their bridges, as Toothy and Simon walk out, telling them that they should do lunch when they've gotten themselves back on their feet.

At the hospital, Jaymzangel comes out of Trauma One, and speaks to someone who is standing just off-camera. She tells the woman that they did everything they could, and then she pauses. The woman starts to sob, but Jaymzangel cuts her off, continuing by saying that the baby didn't make it, but that LB will be fine. We finally see Salty, clasping her hands to her mouth, both upset and overjoyed. She asks Jaymzangel when she can see her, and Jay says that LB needs to go up to the ICU, and she can see her there. She walks off, leaving Salty standing in the ER. Veggie comes up, and asks Salty if everything's OK. Salty hugs her, and Veggie asks what happened. Salty recounts the story of what happened at the house - Crumpet shot LB, and Salty attacked her, and the ensuing fracas ended up with Crumpet being shot. Salty asks if she's OK, and Veggie is silent for a moment, before uttering that she was DOA. Salty is about to cry, when Veggie says that at least LB's OK. Salty forces a smile, and turns back to look into Trauma One. She watches a nurse clean LB up, while Veggie stands watching her, until she gets called away by an intern.

Morgain strolls into the ER, looking for Veggie. When a nurse points her to Exam 3, Morgain cautiously approaches the curtain, until it whips open, and Veggie yelps at Morgain being there. She apologises, saying that Morgain startled her, and asks her what she can do for her. She gestures to the back, asking if it's OK, and Morgain says that her back is what she needs to talk about. She picks a bottle of pills out of her bag, and says that the medication her GP prescribed just isn't helping, and she thinks she might need something a little bit stronger. Veggie says that even though Morgain's a friend, she can't just prescribe something without an exam. Morgain asks her if she's free now, but Veggie counters by asking her if 7pm is OK, she has a lot of paperwork to catch up on. Morgain says that it should be fine, and that she'll come back then. As she walks towards the exit, she catches sight of Salty. She goes up to her, and they greet each other, with Morgain remarking that it's been a long time since they've spoken. She asks Salty what she's doing here, and Salty mentions the shooting. Morgain can tell that she's missed a lot, and wonders if Salty wanted to catch up. The two women head down to the cafeteria.

Over at the office complex, AngelX and Stormy head into Phaedra's office, where she has a pile of books laid out in front of her. She asks AngelX how this happened, but AngelX proclaims to not know what's happening. Phaedra asks if AngelX even looked at the accounts after she handed that side of business over to Shrub, and AngelX demurely says that she always meant to. She then asks why Phaedra's looking at the accounts now, and she says that when AngelX promoted her to Shrub's old position - Stormy interrupts her, saying that its only temporary. Phaedra continues, saying that she decided to see the kind-of system Shrub had set in place. Turns out, Shrub kept a lot of secrets - like the fact that The Boards were in the red. AngelX asks by how much, and Phaedra hands her a piece of paper. AngelX mouths the words "holy crap", as she reads the details. Phaedra nods, saying that that was her reaction too. Stormy asks what they're going to do, and AngelX wearily says that they're going to need help with this. Phaedra asks what she means, and AngelX says that they may have to contemplate Toothy's offer.

SeaBoy is walking down a dark-ish corridor. He calls out, to no-one in particular, if this is necessary. Nobody answers, and SeaBoy bemoans the fact that Wolfram always disappears right when he's needed. He hears two voices up ahead, and ducks into a closet. Two orderlies walk on by, discussing their big evening the night before. Once they've gone, SeaBoy slowly continues down the corridor, until he reaches two big swing doors. He cautiously opens them, and shouts out "hello". When nobody answers, SeaBoy quickly scampers in, shutting the door again and walking nervously over to the freezers on the other side. He goes to one freezer door, breathes heavily, closes his eyes and opens it. He peeks, but the freezer is empty. Exhaling sharply, he closes the fridge door, and turns, to be confronted by Wolfram. He screams, but Wolfram quickly clasps a hand over his mouth. He tells him that he shouldn't be so loud, and SeaBoy says he wouldn't be if people didn't creep up on him. Wolfram apologises, saying that he thought he'd better hurry things up. He walks over to one freezer, and opens it. He points inside, telling SeaBoy to bring him out. Slowly, SeaBoy reaches into the freezer and pulls out Wolfram's body. Like his "ghost", the body is badly burned, but there's a bluish tinge to the body. SeaBoy asks if this is going to work, and Wolfram says that he hopes so. He clambers up onto the gurney, and lies down on top of his body. He instructs SeaBoy to start chanting, and the camera turns to a face-on view of SeaBoy, as he closes his eyes and stammers out various words in Latin. After a minute, he cautiously opens one eye, and sees that Wolfram, the ghost is gone. He pokes the body lightly, calling out Wolfram's name. Nothing happens, so he tries it again. From behind him, a hand clasps his shoulder, spinning him round - it's Wolfram. SeaBoy asks what happened, and Wolfram says that he's not sure. But he thinks that his body is too far gone to be reawoken. He looks as if he's about to cry, saying that there might not be a way to bring him back after all.

AngelX storms into her office, followed by Stormy, who is demanding that AngelX rethink their options. AngelX says that she has, and that they really only have one option available to them. Stormy says that they must be able to come up with the money themselves, and AngelX retorts that unless she's a high-class hooker on the side, there's no way either of them has that much money between them. She sits down behind her desk, and picks up the phone. Stormy slams her hand down on the latch, and AngelX looks up at her sternly. She repeats that they don't have a choice, and just then Toothy walks in, saying that he hoped she'd say that. AngelX asks what he's doing here, and Toothy says that she should be more welcoming of her "saviour". Stormy confronts him, asking how he knew about their financial difficulty, and Toothy says that he has eyes and ears everywhere. He pulls out a document from his pocket, and says that all AngelX has to do is sign it, and their problems will be over. AngelX glances at Stormy, who walks out, saying that it's none of her concern anymore.

Back at the hospital, Veggie completes her exam of Morgain. She says that there is definetly more damage than they originally suspected, and that they should consider upping Morgain's physio to three appointments a week. Morgain thanks her, then asks about a prescription. Veggie unclips a piece of paper from the chart, signs it, and gives it to Morgain, saying that this should ease the pain a lot better than the Dyhoxydrol did. Morgain thanks her, and is about to leave, when she asks about Shrub. Veggie says that she's still the same, and Morgain asks if things are that bad. Veggie walks up to her, and asks her to keep this a secret for the moment, and Morgain confirms that she will. Veggie says that Shrub's vitals have not been that good since she went into the coma, and she's showing no signs of waking up. Short of her famly buying the bed, and the machines being used to keep her alive, pretty soon they're going to have to unplug her. Morgain looks stunned, and quietly asks Veggie how long. She shrugs, saying that she's not sure. But that they won't give up hope just yet. Morgain and Veggie collect themselves, then Morgain leaves, saying that she'll be back tomorrow for physio.

At the pharmacy, Morgain is standing the queue, when a female voice behind her calls out her name. She turns, and Amber is standing there, carrying a huge bag. Morgain squeals in delight, and the two women hug. Morgain asks what Amber's doing back, right in the middle of the semester, and Amber says that she took some time out, sort her head out and suchlike. They hug again, and Morgain says that it's brilliant to see her again. She asks where Amber's staying, and she says that she was hoping somebody would put her up until she could get her old place back. Morgain says that she'd be happy to give Amber a room for a few days, and says that she's just got to get her prescription. She asks what Amber is doing in the pharmacy, and Amber motions to the rack next to her - tampons. Morgain laughs, saying that she should've guessed. They hug again, and a pharmacist calls out Morgain's name. She takes a bag, opens it and pops two of the pills out of the bottle. She instantly downs them, swallowing them hard. Amber looks on, slightly confused, asking Morgain if it's safe to do that. Morgain smiles, saying that it's totally safe, and that her back's killing her. Amber asks what happened, and Morgain says that it's a long, but interesting, story. As the two women walk out of the store, a man standing in line turns to watch them leave, waits a moment, then follows them out.

In a hospital room, Salty comes in, gingerly knocking on the door first. LB sits up in bed, greeting Salty with a weak smile. Salty asks how she's been, and she replies that she's felt a lot better. They look at each other for a moment, and then their smiles disappear. Salty sits on the edge of the bed, telling LB that for what its worth, Crumpet's dead. LB asks if its wrong to be happy about that. Salty looks up, and says that it might be, but these are extenuating circumstances. After a moment of silence, LB asks Salty if the baby's dead. Salty doesn't say anything, and LB continues, saying nobody will tell her anything, but that she can feel it, or rather she can't feel it. A tear forms in Salty's eye, and she confirms that the baby didn't survive. LB clenches her eyes shut, then opens them again. She smiles, saying that at least she won't have to make a choice anymore. Salty smiles aswell, saying that they shouldn't be making jokes about this. LB concurs, and they sit in silence again. Salty eventually moves closer to LB on the bed, and grasps LB's hands in hers. She looks LB in the eye, and says that they can start again. That they can start with a clean slate, and everything will go right this time. LB looks at her, then leans down to kiss her. She agrees, saying that if anything, it can't be any worse than what's happened these past two weeks. The two women laugh, as the camera pulls out of the scene.

Back at AngelX's offices, she is finishing reading over the document. Toothy sits opposite her, lounging in the chair. He asks her if the contract is suitable, and AngelX says that of course it isn't. Toothy remarks that the money freed up by selling The Main Board to him would enable to AngelX's accounts to climb up into the black. AngelX says that she only said the contract wasn't suitable - not that she wouldn't sign it. She takes a pen, and after a moment's though, signs it. She hands it over to Toothy, sighing heavily. He smiles, telling her that it was just what he's been waiting for. He pulls out another contract from his pocket, and hands it to AngelX. She asks what it is, and he says that he's handing control of The Main Board over to an associate, and that the contract AngelX signed was never intended to stick. AngelX demands to know what Toothy is playing at, and he asks her to follow him outside. She slams the contract down on the table, and follows Toothy out into the car park, where a limo is waiting for them. Toothy knocks on the window, and the door opens. He motions AngelX to get in, and she climbs in, pissed off at this latest turn of events. She sits down, and looks across from her - to see ABM and Dandy sitting there, sharing a bottle of champagne. ABM pulls off his sunglasses, and perkily says "hi" to AngelX.

Amber remains cagey about her reasons for leaving Uni, but when a mysterious man asks about her around the town, she turns to her good friend ABM for help...

ABM and Dandy set up alongside AngelX and Stormy, much to the latters' chagrin. Things get even more complicated, though, when the reasons behind them being there come to light...

SeaBoy thinks he may have an idea on how to save Wolfram, but first he'll need to convince Veggie that he isn't a lunatic - which might prove harder than he first realised...

And as LB recovers from her shooting, Salty gets back to work at the restaurant with Gemma - but finds that something is amiss with everyone's favourite bartender...
