The years of CMs abandoned years had been rough of this place. More and more parts of it crumbled giving once dark corridors bright sunlight each day. There were now more entrances to this castle than any designer had intended. It would not hold well for a battle. In one tower Kosses met the unfortunate encounter with a colony of bats. The castle, which she’d been exploring the last daylight hours, had held nothing else of excitement for her. So, with a heavy heart, she rested. Tomorrow might start another journey from CM for her. What was the point in staying, if there was no one else to stay with? Just as Kosses had begun to nod to sleep, a flock of birds had jetted into the sky. “Hello?” the word reached her ears and she startled into a standing position. Could it be someone else had come? She immediately padded over stone and rubble to reach the tree. As she reached the sunlight, she looked into the sky to the flock circling the woods and plopping down on new branches, chirping with fright still. She was careful as she went forth, unsure of who lay ahead of friend or foe. But the anticipation of finding her was too intense. “HELLO?” she barked back into the trees. The silence that feel was heavy on her still form.
