June is another month jam-packed with dog events including a Newf Romp n' Swim on Sunday 6/19 at 1pm. Better get out and have fun with your dog before the blast furnace of summer hits.

Sat 6/4 930am- 12n HERNDON, VA: The K9 2K Walk and Doggie Expo is part of the 25th Herndon Festival http://www.town.herndon.va.us/festival/k9-2k.html featuring a carnival, entertainment, activities for kids and all sorts of canine related stuff.

Sat 6/4 10am- 3pm WARRENTON?/CASANOVA?, VA: Pet Fair by the Fauquier Co SPCA http://www.fauquierspca.com/main.cfm?action=events. The 10th annual Pet Fair will be held on Saturday June 4th from 10am to 3pm. This year will be better than ever with more games, demonstrations and events. Special guest - Tony Orange from Animal Planet's "Cell Dogs" (www.dogworldabc.com). Join us for a great day out for all your family and your pets. Admission is a donation of cat litter or canned pet food.

I can't tell from the website what they're charging for it but it's got to be better than throwing your back out trying to wash your uncooperative pooch... and all proceeds go to a worthy cause. It all happens at the Bethany Square Shopping Center at 10132 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City MD 21042, (410) 480-0450. Wish I lived closer, but I bet they'd raise their rates after dealing with a huge Newfy slobberhound.

Held on a spacious enclosed outdoor terrace every Tues and Thurs from 5-8pm (often runs later) from April through Oct, this is a remakable combination of Happy Hour and happy dogs. Free and cheap snacks (ie, all-you-can-eat wings $3.95, buy one burger get one free) and a farm wagon piled high with dog yummies combine with booze to make this a memorable social outing for people and canines alike. Dress ranges from cut-offs and a Tshirt to business attire and street parking can be easily found.

2nd Thurs of each month ALEXANDRIA, VA: Dogs can join you on a 40 minute cruise of the Potomac River on the Miss Christin of the Potomac Riverboat Co http://www.potomacriverboatco.com/charter/MissChristin/index.html (one of the most difficult to navigate & least informative websites I've seen in a long while) which makes no mention of dogs being invited or the cruise times ( 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm ) or the price, ($8).
