I'd say Tri-Klops couldn't see Moss Man because, as they said in "Here, There, Skeletors Everywhere", Moss Man can become any plant. Tri-Klops didn't see Moss Man, but he most certainly saw the plant that Moss Man had become. He just couldn't distinguish between the two.
