Subject: Aldersson Broaddus University appears likely to close

This West Virginia school participates in the NCAA Division II Mountain East Conference.

"Financially-troubled Alderson Broaddus University had its authorization pulled today during an emergency meeting of the Higher Education Policy Commission, and state higher education officials prepared an order leading to its wind-down.

Commissioners voted unanimously to revoke Alderson Broaddus’s authorization to confer degrees in the state effective this December 31.

The revocation means the institution is not permitted to enroll new students beginning this fall semester. However, seniors scheduled to graduate at the end of the fall term may return to complete their degrees on schedule."

All athletics activities must shut down. Only Seniors are allowed to get their degree in December. The other students can not attend classes this fall including the athletes.

Let's hope the other students can transfer to other colleges without losing course credit. It's unfair to take all those years of classes and studying just to see it all go to waste because of the school's financial troubles.

So sad to see an educational institution facing closure. Unfortunately, there are many college throughout the country that are near similar situations.

In regards to the Battlers football program, they have struggled the past few years after experiencing some early success when their program started in 2013. Their entire football history can be found at https://college-football-results.com/f/alderbro.htm

As of this writing, it seems certain that their 2013 games will be cancelled.
