Subject: Mystery Helmet #58 solved! - Copiah-Lincoln C. C. Wolfpack

In the "Some unidentified helmet designs" section of this site, their was a #58 that had not been solved.
(A unknown team vs Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 1968)

Tracked down Miss Gulf Coast Year Books here:

https://mgccc.edu/alumni/yearbook-archive/

The photo is from the 1969 YB but with no mention of opponents.

Looked up other YBs hoping for a list of opponents.

1971 provided this and out of those opponents I was thinking it could be:

East Central, Jones County or Copiah-Lincoln as the logo appeared to have at least a "C" in it.

I located the Copiah-Lincoln yearbooks and was rewarded!

The helmet is navy blue with a white oval logo

A navy blue "L" is laid over a red "C" inside the white oval logo.

Great color photo on the bottom of page 5 of the 1968 yearbook!

I believe they wore this helmet from 1967 to 1969.

I need more info to try and tackle #50 of the unidentified helmets!

In the meantime, Charles, more unidentified helmets, please!

Thanks! That's a good find.

I ran across one last night while investigating Rochester Tech, and added that one to the website. I do wish i had more time to research the historical helmets, which would undoubtedly lead to running across more unidentified designs, but the modern stuff is leaving me with little time to research older stuff. The historical helmets are generally vastly more interesting than the modern stuff.
