Subject: Unidentified helmet design #50 is...

... the 1974 Macalester Scots!

At the bottom of the left navigation frame of this web site is a section called
"Some unidentified helmet designs".

This is for the last unsolved mystery helmet: #50
(BTW #59 is the 1972 St. John Fisher College Cardinals)

I'm pretty certain that #50 is the 1974 Macalester Scots. Though no idea what that logo is but a
sneaky assumption that the helmet is orange with a white and blue logo.
Gray FM. Logo could be several Scottsmen!

This mystery helmet was totally found by accident!

Was trying to find helmet info for the Northland Lumberjacks as that defunct team was being talked about in another thread.
Did find some B&W photos from the mid 1960's that will be sent over to Charles.

Bethel was an opponent that Northland played back in the 1960's so I was doing some cross referencing with the Royals and found this (page 8):

So with that discovery, went in another direction as I had a vague recollection of the #50 mystery helmet. Also, had Macalester's 1974 schedule handy.
Which led to this Concordia College Cobbers photo (page 10):

https://digitalhorizonsonline.org/digital/collection/p16921coll4/id/12990/rec/1

and finally to this, which is the #50 mystery photo taken from the 1975 St. Thomas Tommies yearbook (page 133 of YB):

Thanks, I agree with your detective work on that one. As you probably noticed Macalester did not publish a yearbook except on rare occasions after 1970, so the logo is probably going to be a very difficult one to track down.
