Having the Poets restore their football program would be great! Although they didn't have much gridiron success since the late 1980's, they fielded many successful teams between the 1940's though the 1980's.

That's good to hear. After such a downturn from the 1980s through 2010s it seems that college football may be making a bit of a rebound in California, with Whittier returning and two other new teams in recent years (Lincoln and Simpson). I have also wondered if the departure of west coast teams at the FBS level to conferences based in the eastern U.S. might lead to teams like Sacramento State or UC Davis moving up to FBS level, or some of the many defunct teams reinstating.
