Subject: 2024 realignment

Probably in a week or so (maybe even sooner) I'll start rearranging the
various conferences pages at the website to reflect
proper alignment for 2024; some teams may appear on
more than one page until the process is complete. I'll
probably use wikipedia as a reference, so if there are
any errors at wikipedia please let me know 😀

Otherwise the next couple months will be spent trying
to finish as much pre-2024 stuff as possible. I think
Division I-FBS is mostly complete aside from ACC and a
few miscellaneous teams like Memphis, San Jose State,
Utah, & a few others. NCAA Division II and NAIA also
need substantial work. Hopefully there will also be
some time to work on some historical stuff.

The Division I (FBS and FCS) will be on another post, but I'm going to go with Division III and NAIA here.

Division III

-Hilbert joins Empire 8 as a football only member
-Castleton joins the MSCAC as a football only member
-Maine Maritime will play a shortened 2024 schedule to prepare for their 2025 debut in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. They are considered to be an Independent for this season only.
-Calvin will make their debut this season. They play in the MIAA.
-The SCAC will bring back football this season with Austin, Centenary, Lyon, McMurry and Texas Lutheran. Four of the five members are currently members of the SCAC with Lyon being an affiliate member. Hendrix joins this group for 2025.
-Three schools are leaving Division III: Sul Ross State moves up to Division II; Defiance drops down to the NAIA level and Birmingham Southern closed their doors.

NAIA

-Jamestown joins the North Star for their final season as a conference. After this season, the North Star will cease operations with Jamestown moving up to Division II while the remaining members will all join the Frontier Conference.
-St. Ambrose and William Woods are joining the Heart of America Conference this season. St. Ambrose is an affiliate member while William Woods is an affiliate for this season only as they (along with fellow affiliate Missouri Baptist) will officially join the conference in 2025. They're also playing their first season.
-Simpson (CA) will make their debut as an Independent program this season before joining the Frontier Conference in 2025.
-Defiance (OH) joins the MSFA's Mideast League this season. To make room for them, Marian and St. Francis (IN) were moved over to the Midwest League. This creates an imbalance of 7 teams in the Mideast League and 6 teams in the Midwest League. That imbalance will only last for this season as Concordia (Ann Arbor) will pull the plug on their athletic department after this season.
-There is a name change here as Southwestern Assemblies of God (SAGU), a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference, is now Nelson University

This would be the last year of Concordia, Michigan's athletics as well since 24/25 will be their last as the school will closed down.

They lost that, so they can't be in NCAA school anymore. Plus, the school owes way too much money that it could close down before fall classes starts.

Should be finished now (except for CIAA/Saint Augustine's), unless I forgot or overlooked something. Thanks to everyone for your contributions.

You may have to refresh or reload the various pages to make the new stuff show up, including the index panel along the left side, to which one new conference was added (NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference).
