Author: Lesley Currie [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:57:13 11/02/01 Fri Hello ~ I live in Sacramento, CA - I work at the original City Hall building - and more specifically - my office cube is located in what was the original dormitory of the fire house attached to City Hall. Two feet from this terminal, in a closet, is the area that the "pole" was located. There is not a day goes by that the firemen who once worked here are not in my thoughts. The new main fire house is now a couple blocks away - and everytime the sirens wail, and the fire trucks rush past City Hall - our thoughts go back to September 11th. When the Sacramento rescue squad went to help out in NY our thoughts were with them and you everyday... and when our guys came through City Hall to fill "the boot" - all of us were there for you and your families. You all - past and present - are todays heros. You all do a job that only a few are willing to take on. May whatever diety you personally believe in - keep you safe in your daily duties, and protect you from harm, so that you may return to your families and friends at the end of every shift!
