Subject: What is this plant

A plant was given to me and I don't know what it is. I wanted to attach a photo, but don't see a way to do it here. It has a tree-like stalk and the leaves are long and oval. I say oval, they are like a rectangle with rounded edges and are very green with yellow spots and the center stem of each leaf is yellow. It's most unusual feature is the hair-like growth at the end of each leaf off the center yellow stem. This apperture will act like it will open into a leaf and then it will fall off. Can someone out there give me some idea what this is and how to care for it? It is long and gangly now, but the foliage is healthy. Please resond. Thank you. Nina

Nina, I only saw this now, but if you had a photo it would be a big help. You can always link here to a photo on Webshots or the like, or just give the address and we could cut and paste it. By the description I am not familiar with the plant at all. The Name that Plant forum on Garden Web -
www.gardenweb.com - would probably be the best place to get it identified.
