Subject: Forgotten cookies recipe

"FORGOTTEN COOKIES"
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
A few drops of green food coloring, optional
1/4 c white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 c semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Beat egg whites and salt until foamy. Add food coloring, optional. Slowly add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating after addition until the meringue stands in stiff peaks. Stir in vanilla extract and fold in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a lined baking sheet and place in preheated oven. After 2 minutes, turn off oven. Leave meringues in oven overnight. Remove from pan and store in cookie tin, lined with paper towel. Enjoy these with the next recipe.

Hot Cocoa
4 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
2-3 tablespoons cold water or cold milk
In med. saucepan, bring the 4 1/2 c milk to a boil. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the cocoa powder and sugar. Add the cold water or milk to form a paste. Whisk the paste into the boiling milk until it is mixed,and serve in prewarmed mugs. This makes 4 delicious servings.
