Animal Cruelty! tsk, tsk. I tell you... vegetarians are going to rule the planet some day.

Favorite character?
Well..I'll tell you. My absolutely favorite character is Carter from The Lost Colony. His player is not exactly active... they show up just about every four months to a year...stay for four days then dissapear for another few months. However, this does not change a thing. Every single post I have seen from this person has been super! I absolutely whip through those messages, all of which are of a nice descriptive length. You can actually understand it... none of these 'femina, horns,...'pon...' that make messages slow going as you try to figure out what they are saying. The messages portray emotion, action, surroundings....definately book-quality. My own messages improve every time I re-read those posts. It's like.. "ah...so that's what my message is missing."
So anyway, with such good writing, the character comes alive.. and supplies neccisary quirks for a successful character.

Of my own characters...I liked badhbh catha herself when I played in Scythe...she was pretty cool...and much easier to keep posts interesting when she could change shapes. Of course I am most personally attached to Raven..but that does not neccisarily mean she is the best.. sometimes I think my messages are getting a bit repetitive...but that is just from lack of active players.

What do I like to see in characters? I like to see variety.. personality quirks that make them human..and imperfect. If a character has a failing of some sort.. you automatically connect to them, and thus wish to interact... Characters that are perfect are just plain boring.
But I also do not like characters that are completely miserable...nothing is right in their life..blah.blah...poor them.Ones that are created specifically to trigger sympathy. That's boring too because everything is focused on them...and interacting tends to go only in their direction, your own character rarely gets anything out of it.
Say there was a character who was blind, but a traveller, with a trade...that may not be completely successful but he still goes onto the next town and trys to get on despite his handicap.. That is interesting. If the character is just...blind, arriving in some pitifully dramatic fashion and then proceeding to whine for help... I don't like that.
I also like characters that have a history that comes out very slowly bit by bit.. the more you interact with the character the more you -just might- know about the character. But again, if you meet someone in a tavern and they spew their life story out to you after a few exchanged sentences, that is no fun. What else is there to know?.. There is no mystery left and no incentive for you to carry on with that person.

Now by 'ideal' do you mean ideal specifically like a particular type of character (warrior etc..) or just ideal character developement type.
(if that makes sense)

Okay had enough? lol I'm done for the moment anyway. ;o)
