Welcome,Blue! I don't know the source either, but it would be nuts of the writers to get rid of Darla. To me, the most interesting thing about Angel is his long, dark past and the characters that figured heavily into that, i.e. Dru and Darla. Still... spoiler below...

Guys - I am nervous about Holtz' appearance, although the actor who plays him is very good and is an asset. What I mean is that Holtz may get some measure of payback against Angel in the same way that Angel initially made an enemy of him, i.e. killing his wife and children. So, I do fear somewhat for Darla and Junior towards the latter part fo the season. :(
