The elf steps back several steps, his face emotionless, not a single thing could be read from his face, or even his eyes.

His eyes were dull emotionless, you cant even be sure if he's looking at you or something else. There was a dreamy look on his face too.

He seems almost not paying attention as he holds the blades.

He knew it was wiser to react than attack as he just waits patiently, observing the master, tracking her movements silently, taking note everything in detail.

He was prepared to move in any direction be it needed...
