(sorry 'bout the last empty post - hit enter, instead of tab...) Irene, I saw the pictures you'd posted on FSMB, and Laddie & his sock have it made! My ferrets also like to play with a sock. Their quarters are on the front porch - a 12x8x8 enclosure, and like you and Laddie, I go into their cage to play with them. Ferrets are natural hunters, and with the squirrels and the cottontail in the house, I can run the risk of another tragedy in my creatures lives, much less mine! My cats are all barn cats - all rescues, too. They are very friendly, 'tho. In fact, two would love to be housecats, but again, that's not going to happen. Molly and I would play "tag" - in the den, she would climb down my leg, and jump to the floor to explore. when she'd turn back to leap to my leg, I'd back up, and dodge her! It was hilarious - she caught on immediately that it was a game! Of course, one thing that's a must is that you shuffle, and not lift your feet from the floor, as they are very light bones critters! I'm really curious now, about the mini Japanese flying squirrel. Are they part of the pet trade? Extremely cute, but I hope they're not endangered... I'll look for you later! The four boards are turning out to be less divisive than I thought they would be... if you want science, try one, if you want some companionship, try another, if you want to talk about other species, try another, if you want a splattering of the spectrum, try the forth. Life is good.
