Thanks Cindy: We will definately keep a eye on them. I still don't have a clue what killed the mother. I have placed some solar lights around the base of the tree to keep cats, ect. away. The feeders are about 6 feet from the ground, dont want them to high so as to have a ladder each time we feed them. I give the outside flyers fresh water, sunflower seeds, raw peanuts, and place peanuts in the shell in a glass bottle feeder, the kind that they have to go through a 1 1/2 inch hole (wood) to get to the glass bottle with the goodies. This keeps the Greys out but not the chipmunks. Usually by daylight everything is gone.
