Subject: flying squirrel breeder who ships overseas?

Hello everyone,

Just came across this message board for the first time. My family owned a southern flying squirrel when I was younger (he passed away many years ago) and I have missed him severely ever since. I have been waiting and waiting for the day I can have one as a pet again (I've moved around for a number of years - LA, NYC, Princeton, now Japan, and I knew I would need to be able to commit to about 10 years in one location for a flying squirrel, since they are not legal to relocate anywhere).

I am living in Sapporo, Japan and it is legal to own American southern flying squirrels as pets (it is not legal to own ezo momonga, nihon momonga, or European flying squirrels [called tairiku momonga] here).
Does anyone know a reputable breeder with experience shipping squirrels to Japan? I want to adopt a baby at about 6 weeks old from a breeder.

I know there are flying squirrel owners throughout Japan but I don't know how to get in touch with them. I speak/read/write intermediate Japanese.

Thank you for any leads you can provide,
seijitsu
