Subject: Surgery change

Last Wednesday I was all set to have lumbar surgery on my back on Thursday. Now I am planning on having Discectomies in my neck at C3, C4, C5 and metal plates installed to ensure spacing. My spinal cord is severely compressed from the front AND back at those levels. There will be some nerve decompression done also. This surgery will be done from the front. I may require additional surgery from the back to decompress the spinal cord on that side. Tentative date is Feb. 4th but it could be sooner if there is a cancellation so I'm on call. Pray for Dr. Manelli to have a good day. Pray for me to win the lottery to pay the out of pocket expenses....
BTW, I may still need the lumbar surgery for the herniated disc. Time will tell...
