I agree with you wholeheartedly that there needs to be some sort of revenue sharing plan and salary cap but i think that contraction might be the thing for baseball. It's not that easy to move a team to someplace where it can fill the stands just because there aren't many cities out there that are large enough or interested enough in baseball to do that. Also, contraction would solve the problem that expansion has created, namely the thinning out of the talent pool. If you get rid of two teams, you get rid of 50 players that probably don't belong in the majors.
