usmgrad, you could be right about the three countries but a trinity usually is an alliance of some sort as well, which I think isn't exactly being demonstrated between England and Ireland! Maybe the three US military folk; Harm, Mac and the mother? Mum, Dad and baby? Three "armies" - the Irish protestors, the Irish authorities and the US military folk? All of the above/works on all levels? Who knows!? But I'm quite sure we're meant to think of the Shamrock.
