Subject: HE WILL BEAUTIFY THE MEEK WITH SALVATION!

Ps. 149:4: For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people:
*HE WILL BEAUTIFY THE MEEK WITH SALVATION.*
*SALVATION* The act of saving from destruction,
ESP. The saving of the soul from sin or its consequences.

The word SALVATION is in the Old Testament 115 times and then in the New testament 43 times and when I searched this out and found that SALVATION was mentioned more in the Old Testament than the New Testament, I was amazed and wondered why. Just now the Lord quickened to me why, in the New Testament we are dealing mostly with the saving of the soul from sin and its consequences, but in the Old Testament God delivered his people from many dangerous situations that if God had not deliverd them, they would have been destroyed! Such as when He delivered them out of Egypt's bondage and how the Egyptians were right on them and the Lord held back the Red Sea for his children then destroyed the Egyptians by the same Red Sea!
The three Hebrew children were delivered out of the burning fiery furnace. (Dan. 3) Daniel was delivered out of the lions den. (Dan.6) This was SALVATION!
One of my favorites is when God delivered Jonah out of the fish's belly (whale). Study Joanh 2 and you will find that Jonah prayed to his God out of the fish's belly.(ver. 1) Then in ver. 2: And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and *HR HEARD ME;* out of the belly of hell cried I, and THOU HEARDEST MY VOICE. Ver. 7: When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came unto THEE, into thine holy temple.
Ver. 9: But I will sacrifice unto THEE with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that I have vowed. ***SALVATION IS OF THE LORD.*** Ver. 10: And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
In our generation we don't go through the fiery furnace, the lion's den, or the fish's belly in the natural realm, but, in the SPIRIT REALM WE GO THROUGH FIERY TRIALS THAT SOMESTIMES WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE IN THE LIONS DEN, OR THE FIERY FURNACE OR EVEN IN THE BELLY OF HELL.
If we take Joanh's example and pray to the Lord our God and cry by reason of our affliction and then, sacrifce the vocie of Thanksgiving, remember our vows to pay them, and ask ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL IN OUR LIFE, THEN WE WILL KNOW THAT GOD HAS HEARD US AND WE WILL HAVE THE PETITONS THAT WE DESIRED OF HIM! {Read 1 John 5:14-15}
Then we will be able to say as Moses did in Ex. 15:2: The LORD is my strength and song, AND HE IS *BECOME MY SALVATION:* HE is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I WILL EXALT HIM.
