I REMEMBER

Oh, how I remember the day I saw you there,
Standing by the window with the sunlight in your hair,
How all the world around me seemed to roll up in a scroll,
Revealing things beyond my grasp and out of my control.
I remember how our eyes met through that span of time,
How the feeling deep inside me carried tones of the sublime,
Concealing yet a future that was hidden from my view,
Love so unconditional, one of which I never knew.

Oh, I recall the very day our hearts were sealed tight,
Surrounded by a love so rare my soul sang with delight,
How the golden rays of the divine shined upon your face,
Created from the heavens, blessed with solitude and grace.
I recall how it engulfed me and swept me off my feet,
Never have I felt a love so special and complete,
Unstated words of passion raised higher than the stars,
Filled me with the knowing of this love that's truly ours.

Oh, I reminisce upon the day our souls became as one,
Merged forever, bonded tight, and brighter than the sun,
How in your embrace and in your arms I heard the angels sing,
Astounded that, here with you, I somehow got my wings.
I reminisce with thankful joy that you are in my life,
You ease me through the troubled times and take away my strife,
Resounded in the valleys from the mountains up on high,
The wind speaks of a love profound, one between you and I.
