Open christmas skin
touches on my fingers
whipping, shocking
when I stretch back
from where I've reached,
always frowning at this beak,
obtrusive and hard
in a high, yellow way.

Holds in me the rails,
the scents I imagine
and the the shops that I follow,
the perfect places
that I've been to.

A solid dance,
a steady job
to see them mingling;
an interesting time
to sit at the top
finding shapes in the lines
and just working my nose.

Watching silouhettes poised
in grass based blocks of shadow
standing at the fence
forward in the distance,
keeping all the sun
though they wouldn't block it out.

A handy resignation
to being a container.
Finding it done
and so out again.
Keeping
clenching
Biting
retaining.
And always the invitation
to let it spill away.
