I will say this again for those who don't understand.

There are still Old Family Red Nose around.

Because there are still many of us still alive from the 50's 60's and 70's when the dogs were around.
My line has been bred straight from dogs born in the middle to late 60's as was Suzie Que, Mitzie and Maximillian.

What continues to confuse people is the fraze *terminology*.

OFR means:
Old Family Reds.
This is a breed of fighting dogs imported from Ireland and is "one" of the foundation dogs used in creating the American Pit Bull Terrier.
This breed of dog is --extinct--.

OFRN means:
Old Family Red Nose.
This is a strain within the breed of American Pit Bull Terrier.
This terminology refers to dogs which have the looks and characteristics of the foundation breed of the Old Family Reds.

Other strains in the American Pit Bull Terrier are the Blue Dogs (From the Scottish Blue Paul) foundation dogs.
Another is example is the Black and Tan dogs which was imported with the German immigrants. These are only a few examples.

ARE THERE OLD FAMILY RED NOSE ALIVE TODAY?

*********YES********

ARE THERE "PURE" OLD FAMILY RED NOSE DOGS ALIVE TODAY?

********THERE -NEVER- WERE "PURE" OLD FAMILY RED NOSE********

IT IS A STRAIN, *NOT* A BREED!!!!

ALL THE DIFFERENT STRAINS WITHIN THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIERS HAVE CROSSES IN THEM OR THEY WOULD NOT HAVE HELP CREATE THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER!

IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE CROSSES THEN THEY WOULD BE THE ORIGINAL BREED OF DOG THE IMMIGRENTS IMPORTED TO THE UNITED STATES!!!!

Now if you want to ask yourself, what constitutes "PURE" by any meaning or terminology today?

Does it mean red nose dogs which have at least a 7 generation pedigree where every dog in the pedigree is red nose?
How about ALL their litter mates as well?

If this constitutes "PURE" OFRN,
Hell yes there are PURE OFRN because I can trace mine back farther then 7 or even 10 for that matter!

So you can decide.

The looks of the Old Family Red Nose have *ALWAYS* had white on them,
like "Hemphill's Geronimo" and red brindle as in the adds of the pass by Robert Hemphill, and others, have advertised.

As for characteristics, then all you have to do is look for who has proven dogs.....

Now everyone is entitled to disagree with me, that is your right.
But the above facts are the real facts pertaining to the the breed of the Old Family Reds and the strain of Old Family Red Nose.

Now if others don't feel theirs don't qualify with what is posted above to be Old Family Red Nose, then maybe they are not.

BUTTTTTTTTT mine do!!!!!!!!!!!!
