>we are resurching ANN MARIA ROWBOTTOM,on her marriage cert. her father is named as THOMAS ROWBOTTOM gun stocker.
She was married in the parish of ST PAULS BIRMINGHAM to a OLIVER JOHN HARPER and later moved to COVENTRY.
We seem to be having some problem with tracing her befor that, even though we have the birth certs. of 2 different ANN MARIAS' born within a year of each other to different parents (one has no fathers name).
hope we are connected and can be of help to each other.

I am researching my husband's family tree. We have a

>Her mother was called Sophma (?). They are listed in
>the 1881 census as living at 8 Court 4 House (no

I have been looking through some of my old emails for Thomas Rowbotham and found these:

If I remember correctly Ann Walsh may be linked to Thomas the gun stocker.

I do have some old email addresses for Joan Rowbotham and Ann Walsh, if you are interested to contact them, please contact me and I will send you details.

emails from Joan Rowbotham:
email 1
Hi: My husband William George R 's grandfather came over here in 1905.
Here being Canada. He came with three brothers. Fare acc. to family lore
paid by their very wealthy Uncle Thomas Rowbotham who lived near
Birmingham. The family lived in Gt Barr Street for years. First census
1840. Have discovered that John R who married Sarah Morral 11 Nov 1849 was
born in Uttoxoter. The above Thomas had one soe Sir Samuel HANSON
Rowbotham. I have the wills of both father and son and Thomas shows him a
man of property...Sir Hanson died without issue.
Any chance that we have connections. The family obviously moved from
B'ham to London. George Edward R was born in Stratford London 9 Jan 1887
and married a Bellis. Hope to hear from you. I am hoping to do some
research this coming year into the Uttoxeter connection. The first census
in 1840 says that John was not born in Warwickshire. His wife Elizabeth
was. The ages in that census are wild... Looking forward to hearing from
y ou Joan

Thanks for the info from Walsh ...I think I have a
her Thomas R in my census data. My Thomas R was son of John R and Sarah
Gad(s)by or Cadby. I have the latter's m. cert. Thomas was a builder...
he had one son Samuel Hanson Rowbotham who was knighted (Daddy was a big
supporter of the Conservative party!!). Thomas lived at Gilbertson Grange
just outside today's B'm. He also owned the Clay Farm property where
todays airport is...Plus much more. Hanson lived London and Isle of
Wight I have both wills... Thomas mentions all his brothers and sister
and the number of their children. My husband's gt grandfather (another
John) was T's brother. More later. Thanks for keeping in touch. Joan
