A small frown tugs at the corners of the handsome man's lips, the complete calm of his countenance a bit startling, a bit eerie. The look be odd, for the mischievous Southerner's swarthy visage normally evolves around emotion, around expression.
The murmur of a sigh treads through his vocals with little hesitation, though he listens intently to her own story. Equally dramatic and horrifying, it is, but still, she would not be able to relate to his own history- his own dreads. "The Burnhides..." The word rolls off his well-versed tongue, the "language" of his culture familiar in his voice.
A moment of contemplation pauses the words of the suave gentleman, the steaming brew traveling to his lips once more. The essence of the hazelnut coffee creeps into his mouth as a single sip is taken; the aura of his changes at this moment, the final decision to tell Raven of his past.
Holding the container of java between both weather'd hands, Carson peers over it to glance at the beauty in front of him. The voice of he is gruff, husky with a turmoil of memories, and rumbling, "My story's a bit different, Raven; unlike many... I am of two clans. My mother was a Leapvaugn, and my true father a high priest of the Woodbane- a Woodbane who did not renounce the ways of old." Another swallow of the hot caffeine slips through his throat, a brief pause in his vague story. "I had never met him- never really wanted to, but rumors had reached me of his growing power... and his desire to eliminate those who do not follow his path."
Silence reigns over the duo once more, the smokey hued orbs of the masculine one gazing out the window, into his personal thoughts. All he had stated had been in truth, though it was not the whole of his dilemma. In fact, it was only the tip of the iceberg.
