  • His fingers moved idly across her stomach as he eyed the newspaper as well. His eyes slowly moved away from the type though, as he turned his head to press a kiss to her temple idly and sigh contentedly. They were always terribly lazy on Sundays, but it made no matter, because they were usually tangled together, arms and legs and bodies, and that in itself was blissful and made up for the lack of productivity. Turning his eyes back to the paper, they flickered over an article on the refurbishing, thanks to a kind donor who happened to be his grandfather, of the nursery at the local hospital. • She smiled softly as he pressed a kiss to her temple, leaninf her head into him a little more as he did so , all the while reading the article on the other page to him- about the old theatre being replaced by a new one- about time in her oppinion. she set her coffee down and let her warm fingers move to link with his against her toned stomach, letting her dark eyes drift up to gaze out the large windows at the bright sun, letting a content smile dance across her features. • He nodded, smiling back at her, "Me too -- winter never seems to end in the city." Another sigh passed over his lips as he let his eyes wander back to the article about the hospital. "Did you see what Grandpa did?" He mentioned the article.. he had been feeling a very strong paternal instinct since Danny and Mali's boy had been born -- he loved to have them over so he could coddle the child, he desperately wanted one of his own. • She glanced at the article and smiled, nodding a little as she glanced up at him "I read it- its really great." She smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek, before turning over to the next page, scanning it for anything of interest. "Hey look their having an arts festival here in the summer... That could be fun.." The arts college she attented would probably have a lot to do in it- and she herself would probably be involved. She knew that Charlie was aching for a baby- and she was in her final year of school and would be finishing in just a couple of months- but she wasn't ready for a baby- she wanted to do so much with her life first- she wanted to do broadway for a few years at least- maybe travel around the world- who knew what could happen to her six months from now- it could be another Audrey Hepburn story for her! • Though he had never officially broached the subject with her, his stomach sunk a bit when she turned the page and his smile faded, invisible to her. He pasted it back on and reached up to twist one of her ringlets around his calloused fingertip. "Mhm... bet you'll probably end up on the front lines of the organization - they probably already volunteered you." He grinned a little and pressed another tender kiss to the top of her head. • She grinned a little at that and rolled her eyes playfully "Mm- superstar that I am" She grinned and dropped a wink to show she was teasing. She was having such an easy time of it- She was only at school from 10 untill 3 each day and had plenty of time to play with 'her' dogs and shop and lounge aorund- and Charlie was workling really hard for them both- bringing in the income- while she just did shows here and there to get them a bit more for luxeries like weekends away and fancy dinners out. • His finger dropped from tangling in her hair back to their protective spot on her stomach as he murmured against her hair. "Mmhmm, you are.. you're amazing." He smiled a bit and pressed another kiss to the crown of her head, tightening his arm around her ever so slightly and splaying his fingers across the taut flesh of her stomach. "Let's have a baby, Aly.." It was whispered, barely audible, as if he hoped she didn't hear. He knew this wasn't the time or the place, but he couldn't help himself. • Her eyes flashed a moment as she heard his words, and her dark eyes darted up to his, searching for any sign of joking or teasing. She wasn;t quite sure what to say to that, so she just played it off as a joke, hoping to distract him from that subject "You've only been married to me for three months baby- sick of my company already?" She flashed him a playful grin and hoped it seemed genuine - though she knew that was hardly gonna work. Her smile faded as she realised he wasn;t playing, dark eyes watching him as she swallowed softly "Are you serious? Charlie I'm still so young... y'know? And I haven;t even begun my career yet... • The corners of his lips tilted downward a bit, it was as though she'd punched him in the stomach and knocked the air out of him. This was one thing they had never really discussed -- oh they both knew that they wanted to have children someday down the road but he hadn't realized that she thought having children would limit her so seriously. He frowned further, but still held her close. "I didn't think it would be throwing it away.. you could still have a career, there's babysitters and daycares.. • She frowned a touch and shook her head "Leave my children to be raised by strangers while I'm touring the country on shows? Take six to eight months out and put myself years behind? I could get pregnant and never get my figure back... or put my back out lifting the kids or whatever- and then what am I supposed to do? " She frowned a touch and shrugged her shoulders "I'll only be able to really do what I want to do in my twenties- by the time I'm thirty my career will be over anyway- we can have as many kids as you want then." • It was at that point that he visibly moved away from her, he felt a bit sick to be honest. They were horribly on the wrong page here. He could understand waiting a few years, but until she was out of her thirties? He wasn't exactly getting younger. "I don't want to be old and gray at their graduations and gone before they marry though..." He spoke hesitantly.. he really felt she was being vain over the whole thing. "Charlie most people wait until they are twenty nine, thirty before they start families these days... its no big deal..." She shrugged her shoulders a little and let her brow furrow "I'm sorry if you think I'm being selfish but dancing has been my dream for as long as I can remember... it means a lot to me Charlie." • He just let out a sigh, he wanted to get out, walk away, take Des to the park, stew on his own for a while, but he was trapped in the booth as she was on the outside. This was the last place he wanted to be. "That's it, all or nothing? It wouldn't end your career. I could see if you had a reason besides 'it would ruin my figure'. Look how Malia is bouncing back!" Of course, Malia wasn't into theatre anymore, but that was more due to depression than anything else, she wasn't 'into' much of anything, except for caring for their child. Was he really so bored of their marriage so soon? "Do you have any idea how my kind of profession works? Once I leave school it gets ten times harder- I have to be in top shape to get cast! I'm not going to be competing against ten or twenty girls for the part- i'm going to be auditioning against hundreds of girls. You know how important this is for me. I lived in a whole different country for a year so it would give me a push up the ladder- so I could be sucessful.   • While he had just made a reference to Malia and Danny's relationship, he had already made up his mind that this would not be like them. He had a steady job and he supported them, he didn't have school to go onto.. and he was making more excuses in his head. He didn't want to be soothed and satisfied this easy, so he continued to sulk, didn't turn his face to hers when she kissed him, his hands lifted and settled on the table before him, he looked straight ahead for a moment and then sighed again. "I can see I'm just pissing you off so I'm gonna go see my mother" She hated when he got in his sulks- he acted like the spoilt little boy that he was and it just irritated her that he couldnt see her point of view- they were both being pretty selfish over this- but her mother was always good for things like this. • He really liked Echo, adored her, in fact, but Aly going to Echo at the moment just made him feel like he was getting teamed up on. In his mind, he wasn't being ridiculous, he was making a lot of sense. He scowled a little bit, and watched her go... There was no sense in chasing after her.. he genuinely felt like he was right here. Feeling a bit stupid without her, he folded up his paper, and threw a few bills on the table to pay for their coffee and muffins, tucking his paper under his arm and heading out, in the opposite direction, back to their apartment.
