Leah had attended a lecture on Pediatric Cardiology at the univercity today, more of a refresher than anything, but she had really enjoyed it. Her career was a strain, with two kids and a husband she adored, but she made it through- working less hours than most, but she was very intelligent and dilligent and got pretty much the same amount done as most of the other interns. She rarely worked 24 hour days- once a month at most really- she normally managed 12 hour days and Luke was very understanding. Her mother and mother in law were also a godsend. It was good though, to finish her day so early... she still had a question-time and reflection session to return to, but everyone was on lunch so she nipped out to get a coffee. Her short blonde hair was straightened neatly and a pair of hipster jeans and a white tank hugged her lithe form... child birth had been pretty kind on her, and other than her slightly enlarged chest and a little more curve to her hips, she looked very much like she had several yeahs ago. She ordered a black coffee and glanced around as she waited for her order, her blue eyes landing almost immediately on a couple sat in the corner, one of whom she recognised. A smile spread over her pretty features and she waved once she caught his eye, heading over once she got her coffee. "Hey! Sorry... I hope I'm not interupting..."

  • Leah flashed the girl a friendly grin, holding back a laugh as the girl nearly knocked over the coffee, returning Josh's kiss tot he cheek along with a friendly arm squeeze. "Oh I just wanted to say hey... I don;t want to intrude... are you sure its okay?" She asked politely, letting her gaze flicker over the girl. She was a little confused by the girls reaction to her, and wondered how she knew here... perhaps Josh had mentioned her name before... "I've been in the university for a lecture on Pediatric Cardiology... Peter Hollins was speaking, It was pretty interesting... nice to be back in school to be honest... " She smiled warmly as took a seat once she was assured she was welcome.. "Keila... thats a really pretty name... do you work with Josh?" (NT) -- Leah, Tue, Sep 04 2007, 3:53pm PDT

• "No, not at all, just unwinding a bit." Her smile was warm and honest as she sat down, waiting for everyone else to follow her lead and do the same before she answered again. "Thanks, my family is from Hawaii, it was where I was born and raised so I guess it's kind of a cultural name." Shrugging a bit, she leaned forward, sipping on her cinnamon dolce latte. "Yeah, actually, today was my first day as a professor. I was Josh's TA for a bit and we have some mutual friends." She smiled again before she leaned back. Josh was staring between the girls, looking back and forth for a second before he grinned. "You two kinda look a like. That's a bit creepy." • Leah listened attentively to the girl and offered her a smile "Congratulations... Its a lot of work... " She knew that well enough from when she'd been with Aiden. Her attention was brought back to Josh though at his strange comment and she couldn;t help but eye him unsurely, narrowing her gaze a little at him "Not that alike... not creepy alike..." She teased, laughing softly. "Whats going on?" She asked Josh, wondering at the grin on his face "I feel like I'm missing something." She settled into the arm chair and folded one leg over the other, bringing her coffee to her lips delicately. She almost wanted to ask if Josh still kept in touch with Aiden- but last she had heard Aiden was in Zambia or somewhere teaching... she wasn't sure if they were even friends anymore. • "Girls are so dramatic. Just out with it. It's not like you both wore the same dress to prom or anything, you just dated the same guy. Leah, this is Aiden's girlfriend." Keila stuck her tongue out at him childishly before looked back at Leah, shrugging helplessly. "Ex. Ex-girlfriend. We broke up a year ago." She narrowed her eyes at Josh when he gave a disbelieving snort before she looked back over to the new girl once more. "I..um...I heard about you through another friend of ours...Tommy McMahon? Remember him? I wasn't being nosy or anything, I promise..." She was about to continue when Josh cut her off, his knowing voice speaking clearly. "Tommy wants in Keila's pants. I think he is trying to think of everything he can to make her hesitant to get together with Aiden once again." An outraged near squeal came from Keila and she reached over to throw a pillow at him. • Leah arched her brows and couldn't help but smile at Josh- he had always had the ability to make her smile- even in the most awkward situations. "Ah... ok... slightly uncomfortable now..." She teased, narrowing her eyes playfully at Leah before glancing to Keila "I'm sorry to hear you broke up... Tommy! Yeah I remember Tommy... he used to want in my pants too... I don;t think he can help it..." She added with a teasing grin, trying to make light of the situation- though she was actually feeling pretty uncomfortable... She loved Luke and wouldn't want to be with anyone else- but she did still feel bad about how things ended with Aiden- she wished things had been more friendly... as it was this girl probably thought she was the biggest bitch on the planet. "I actually have it on good authority that the couple over there have excellent hearing." Leah winked at Keila with a smile, trying to keep things as comfotable as possible.   • Leah watched Keila and listened as she spoke, her attention moving to Josh as he put in his two cents- she wasn;t sure what to say to it all really. When she and Aiden had been together they'd even been thinking of marriage... but like Leah had told Aiden the day they broke up- he wasn't the man she pictured waiting at the alter for her. "I'm sorry...." She offered, giving Keila a slight sad smile- she wasn;t sure what to say without sounding condesending by talking about how it had been when they dated, or pushy- sticking her nose in where it wasn;t wanted. She and Aiden had talked once about heading out to africa- her practicing medicine, him teaching... it had been one of those wacky ideas one night on the beach- but it had always been more his dream than hers. • "Ah..kind of. I dunno. I guess. I mean, we were together three years, that kind of says it all, yeah?" She couldn't help but think about Aiden's words that night on her lawn though, him pointing out that never once had she asked him to stay or told him that she loved him. "He's....he's really sensitive, though, you know? And I don't want to pressure him into giving up his dream for me. I'm not that selfish, unlike Josh over here." She grinned at her friend, brushing her hair back out of her face for a moment. Josh had grabbed her as she was walking out of the building to her car so she had come out to get coffee with him though her first thought had been to call Aiden and tell him all about her day. It was weird, for a year she had existed without him but now, because he was back, it just seemed normal to want to share every moment of her day with him. • Leah nodded gently, tucking her knees up to her chest gently. It was good that Aiden had someone to love him like she loved Luke... it was a shame things weren't working out "Yeah I guess so..." She smiled softly, offering her condolences. "What about your dreams? All couples have to sacrifice... its worth it in the end...     • She didn't think she was saying anything personal about Aiden at all, she was more talking about herself so she didn't think there was anything wrong with discussing things with the other girl. At her words about Aiden not fighting for her, she frowned a touch and let out a soft breath, biting her lip as she looked away for a moment. It hurt to think about Aiden fighting for anyone but her and he hadn't even really fought for her at all either. Though, he had admitted he had been all but stalking her so they could 'run into' each other. Plus there was last night.....a low breath escaped her lips before she forced a smile and cleared her throat. "I hear you are happily married now, congratulations." She didn't even know who broke up with who, though from what she understood the relationship had been fairly serious. Aiden had told her that what he and Keila shared was more intense, or serious than his relationship with Leah had been but Keila wasn't so sure what to think anymore. Leah and Aiden had been pretty relaxed with their relationship, easy going and happy... until Luke had appeared back on the scene and Leah's thoughts had started running the same way that keila's had- that she wanted more than relaxed and happy... she wanted burning hot and breathlessly in love... the way it had always been with Luke- through the good parts at least. Luke made her feel like she was the only woman in the world, the only thing that would make him happy- how could a girl resist that from a man she has always adored?
