Zack & Ash are producers on "The Twilight Zone," a job with more power and more money on something that resembles a real network. They would have been NUTS not to take the promotion and no doubt big increase in pay.

RHW went for complicated reasons and EAV went with him. She is now involved in "Adventure, Inc." which I don't consider a step up. Actually, I was never a fan of hers. I still think her prison planet episode is the worst Andromeda ever and I judge all the bad ones by it.

It has been bumpy but is definitely on the upslope these days. Yeah, some of the season 3 early episodes were lousy but so were season 1 episodes and season 2 episodes. No show hits a home run every time at bat. (Hey! I HATE sports metaphors!)

Still, compared to "Enterprise," where the characters are so dull after three seasons, I still can't remember their names, or lots of other dreck on tv, I am a loyal Andromeda viewer. I also was never a fan of Tyr or the Nietzscheans (a race predicated on racism just never appealed to me and Mr. Cobb is a bit stiff in my book) so his going will only make it better for me.

That's the problem. There are folks who love Tyr and folks who don't. Folks who love or hate every character. Folks who want NO humor and folks who love a good chuckle. It is impossible to please everyone so compromises have to be made. Tribune isn't in the business of making tv out of purely noble and altruistic reasons. They want to make a profit!

At least they aren't doing "reality" shows.
