Date Posted: 17:38:41 12/07/07 Fri In reply to: L. 's message, "Re: Thanks L . of course not one word from bush about the billions it will cost" on 16:06:30 12/07/07 Fri we live on a hillside and the ditch accross the street used to be much deeper the road slants toward the property across the street however when the phone co did this digging they replaced the ditching with one about half as deep the water on sat ran over the ditch then up hill onto the road way even though the road is hilled toward the ditch , then down our driveway to the garage even the drainage pipes we put in could not handle that much water. we have lots of plantings and trees around our place so i am sure they help some but nothing could have helped with sat nights many inches of rain . the drainage we have to the ravine is a natural drainage area according to our property platting . but its aimed at further s on our property . We put in a culvert under the new drive way we put in that drains into this natural ravine drainage area. not sure this is clear when one cannot see what I am speaking about but its the best i can co . Doubt there is much anything can be done with the amount of rain that came down over the weekend along with the snowfall. Most of the streams and creeks in my area are salmon spawning grounds so they cannot be disturbed it may have even been worse with out those safe guards . The salmon spawing creeks all have to have green belts around them etc. and cannot be disturbed . we have lots of rain up to 90 inches ayear much more than seattle that we handle ok as a community its these century storms that are doing the harm .
