Date Posted: 11:29:39 04/10/07 Tue In reply to: Bev 's message, "It appears motor cycles pollute more per mile than many other vehicles" on 10:31:13 04/10/07 Tue I used to have a motorscooter and it got over 100MPG. I doubt there are any cars that get that kind of mileage. So will someone tell me how a motorscooter that burns one gallon of gas in over 100 miles is putting more crap into the air than a car that burns a gallon of gas in 30 or 40 miles. Is the burning more complete in the car? And even if it is, you still have to be producing more carbon. I guess we all need to throw out our lawnmowers while we are at it. Any of you people got hay fever?? BTW, I always wondered how many tens of thousands of acres of carbon eating green space is trampeled to dirt by all those Seirra Klub members hiking around the Wilderness. And that's not counting the millions of trees that have to be cut to make the paper for all the crap they send out to me in the form of action alerts. > I got this from another board. > >'Motorcycles: Green or Obscene?' - "Park that beast >and buy a Ford Explorer for Gaia's sake!" > In case you should be thinking what I was... > >I will need new wheels soon.
