Wash supplied much of the power Ca was missing during that time we could not supply it due to drought . think there are about 10 large dams on the Columbia involved in this power supply . BPA ( the dams in wa) had to buy power from enron because of a mandate by bush that the power had to be supplied even though there was no power available due to the drought . BPa in turn sold this power they were forced to buy from enron to Ca. If we had not had the drought we could have supplied this with power straight from bpa which would have cost ca much less. As far as the lack of refineries and lack of lines go . BOth were discussed fully on this board with links at the time. Since you are the one with the evidently faulty memory i am sure if you go to yahoo you will find the links you want . I am to busy to look them up for you . Plus it would do your soul good to do your own research . expecting 5 house guests for the weekend about 3 today plus extras for dinner both today and tomorrow.
Now i realize there are no new refinereis however some refineries sat idle when bush and co were sayinng it was lack of capicity that the gas was so high. Three weeks ago gas was less than 250 in my area now its 3 dollars this has nothing to do with refineries it has to do with price goudging plain and simple and any simpleton should be able to put two and two together and see that.
