ok, i feel like venting, especially since i just went to a local speed show where i was the only one ('cept for the little kids in the pee-wee classes on their ponies) who could control my horse. everybody else was jabbing thier horses with spurs, needing big curbs and tie-downs, and yelling at thier horses when they started getting fidgety. I was riding my gelding in a full-cheeck snaffle bit and small english spurs. the only time he got upset was when he stepped in ants.

-sigh-

I don't know about you, but that's not good horsemanship to me.

If these ppl would just put their horses in a simple snaffle bit, and try some basic dressage training, they'd find out that you don't hafta use nylon straps to keep their horses head down. sure, it takes a lot of work, but i guarentee its worth it.
