Subject: The American College of Pediatricians is not as official as it sounds. It is a politically-driven fringe group of doctors founded as a conservative alternative to the American Academy of Pediatrics. It has about 700 active members, vs. AAP which has 67,000 members and endorses gender affirming care.

Also this article does not say that acceptance has adverse effects, and even says itself that bad childhood experiences (like, say, being bullied by adults on the internet) can be a cause of adverse mental health effects. There are numerous accredited studies that demonstrate the benefits of gender affirming care, including this one that demonstrates a regret rate of approximately 1% in a study of 7928 subjects who had gender affirming surgery (which is more than we're not even talking about here) something virtually no other surgery can say.
