Subject: This is a concern of mine as well. I have seen so many 20-something former dancers with severe foot problems.>
In reply to: Worried 's message, "Anyone have any info/stats on injuries or issues later in life due to ID?" on 22:26:20 03/28/24 Thu

The issues are enough that they affect their day-to-day life, and I worry about what the future holds for them as they age. There are no training protections in place. Schools have no fear about burning through dancers nor do they spare a thought for the dancers' futures. You can see the impact of overuse injuries in young footballers. FC Barcelona in particular is dealing with this and it's being discussed if you are interested. We have all seen the typical recovery and return to dance protocol that TCs follow; laughable and abysmal but par for the course in Irish dance, and signed and sealed by the mothers.
