Subject: But the teens and senior ladies competitions at nationals are qualifiers,
In reply to: Giving some adults a bad rep 's message, "It's frustrating that the teens who are working their way through the grade levels, into prelim, and up into open would love to go to nationals but it must be earned, but the adults get these opportunities handed to them and the squeaky wheels want their cake but don't want to compete against people who are. better than them" on 05:44:21 07/04/24 Thu

There is no competition for adults past nationals. Adults competing at nationals in solos is only a few years old, and it wasn't that long ago that adults were forbidden from dancing slow material at competitions. Committees and regions are trying to figure out the best way to include adults who started as adults and those that started as children, we are just in the "messy" time as things are tried and either work or need adjustments or changes. Plus there is massive age range for adults which comes with all the issues we face as our bodies get older. The split of adults and advanced adults was an attempt to level the field of those who started as an adult and those who danced as children. Someone who started dancing in their 40s and is now in their 50s competing against someone in their 30s who was an open champion as a teen isn't a fair competition for either dancer.
