Subject: I haven’t watched the video, but in results, the placed dancer (but not WQ) appears to have been scored by the judges (scores for the first round have dashes but some dashes are followed by “tie”).
In reply to: curious U10 mom 's message, "Recall mistake in U10 at Nans" on 11:56:05 07/06/24 Sat

So she was scored for the first round by the judges.

I suspect there was an issue with her dance, perhaps something like what happened at Worlds a few years ago when a girl false started but the adjudicators didn’t give her the required zero marks for a false start and it wasn’t corrected until a few days later. In this case, I assume something happened that the adjudicators should have given her zeros abut did not, and that was corrected after the fact.

Her scores from the second round were enough to put her in recall position. But what I don’t get is they said this girl shouldn’t have been recalled and couldn’t qualify for worlds, so I am not sure why she was even called up for awards.

All that said, I’m not saying she should not have been called up. Despite my presence on Voy Irish dance boards, I’m not really into dumping on and humiliating ten year olds. This is why everyone, including judges, need to follow the rules. If she was supposed to get zeros, the judges should’ve given her zeros at the time and the whole mess could have been avoided. No can hide false starts and other mishaps anymore. We can all see exactly what happened on FeisTV (and huge shout out to whomever those people are).

And I’ll repeat that I haven’t watched the comp so it is possible something complete different happened. I’m just giving my best guess.
