Subject: I appreciate your point, but I don’t think that enough people would agree to separate from CLRG. More inside.
In reply to: my lowly 2cents inside 's message, "If you're going to invoke the abusive marriage parallel let me say this as a survivor: the more rapid and unprepared the escape, the infinitely more likley the new situation will fail." on 17:03:33 07/10/24 Wed

What you said makes a lot of sense and is a smart move if IDTANA does intent to leave CLRG.
Where we differ is that I don’t trust that leadership at IDTANA intends to leave… I think that they will be vague enough in their request for change… that they will
Make the case that progress was made and that we need to continue to be patient because change takes time.

I don’t blame anyone for paying their dues and waiting another year to see if things can get turned around. I admire their optimism.

I personally cannot in good conscience support CLRG after everything I have learned over the last two years.
The misconduct that took place and the steps taken to cover it up was despicable. The actions taken since 2022 show an unwillingness to take responsibility for their failures and inability to make meaningful changes to fix what has been broken for so long.

They say that change takes time…. But there’s no guarantee or evidence that anything will change. It’s a gamble.

I did not make this decision lightly or in the heat of the moment. This time last year I felt a similar sense of concern at the trajectory of CLRG. I decided to give it another year and see what would happen.

CLRG voted against following the advice from the SIA report, told us that they couldn’t take action against the people who were caught cheating, and then they said they needed more money because they were on the verge of bankruptcy.

That answered my question quite effectively. And I am heartbroken over it.
