They'll provide a lot more support than light shoes and are thin enough and shaped vetter to allow moves like rocks than regular sneakers. For heavy dances they have support at the toe for regular toe (back toe). They claim to support toe stands but that's debatable especially if split soled with less arch support. They come up regularly for sale second hand in good condition.
